Frankfurt / Main (dpa) - Felix Magath has criticized the German Football Association for dealing with the 3rd division in the corona crisis.
"I have absolutely no understanding that the restart, which was originally planned for May 26, has been postponed," said the 66-year-old to the "Bild" newspaper. Magath now works as the head of Flyeralarm Global Soccer and also takes care of the third division club Würzburger Kickers. The problems in the third division would increase with increasing duration, Magath predicted.
"It is difficult to understand why the first two professional leagues have presented a concept and have been playing for a long time - but the third professional league has not." The DFB had decided that the season in the 3rd division should continue from May 30. "It should have been clear long ago. Instead, the DFB is shifting responsibility back and forth," said Magath. The former Bundesliga coach does not consider a season break to be a possible option.
