There is no football fan who does not know the name San Siro, the mythological stadium of the city of Milan, the home ground of Milan and Inter, founded in 1926. The amount of historical games and events held there can fill countless books. And here, at 94, San Siro is facing demolition.
The Italian Heritage Authority has authorized Milan and Inter to collapse the magnificent stadium, after rejecting the latest objections to a move to remove one of the city's scenery. One of the arguments for its demolition: lack of architectural importance.
A date has not yet been set, but both groups have been approved to build on the demolition of a new 60,000-seat San Siro stadium, after also persuading the city council, including Mayor Giuseppe Sala, that it is useless to renovate the famous stadium, as has been done several times before. .
