He made the Peitinger tremble a little, but now it's official: Nardo Nagtzaam is also coming up next season for EC Peiting in the Oberliga Süd.
Peiting - This news should please fans of EC Peiting: The top scorer remains. As the ice hockey top division announced on Friday, Nardo Nagtzaam has extended his contract with the ECP. Last season, his first in Peiting, the 30-year-old scored 21 goals and 46 assists - in just 35 games. With the Dutchman and the Czech Martin Mazanec, Peiting has thus occupied both quota positions for the coming season.
"He works every game, runs a lot, is very flexible, is always in the service of the team and his speed should have seen everyone in the past season," says team manager Gordon Borberg, the strengths of Nagtzaam. “We are happy that he will stay. Nardo is certainly one of the best foreigners in the league and certainly the best Dutch, ”says Borberg with a smile.
Nagtzaam wanted to try DEL2
The Dutchman switched to Peiting from the Oberliga Nord in 2019 from the Tilburg Trappers. For example, he previously played in the United States and Slovenia. After a few games of start-up time, Nagtzaam found his way in Peiting and became an important pillar of the team.
"He has confirmed to us on several occasions that he just loves it here," reports Borberg from Peiting's number ten. There was a reason why it continued to take some time: "It was because he would have liked to try DEL2 and of course we wanted to give him this opportunity," said the team manager. However, there was no corresponding offer and so the Peitinger can continue to look forward to their top scorer. "It was always clear to him that he would only stay in Peiting within the upper league," says Borberg.
It continues bit by bit
The team manager is already looking ahead. In addition to Nagtzaam, Lukas Gohlke, Mazanec and Thomas Heger have now "signed some of the team's supports". "Now we are going on bit by bit," announces Borberg.
