The handball players in the region are also trying to get back to normal. A plan by the German Handball Federation is met with little enthusiasm among the clubs from the region.

Peißenberg / Oberhausen - Politicians are concerned with how social life should slowly return to a new normal. The sports associations are also considering how and when sports can be played in the future. The German Handball Federation (DHB) presented a position paper on how it could go on. Under the motto "Return to play" there are recommendations for action on how training processes are organized in the various stages with a view to hygiene and protective measures. In addition, an eight-stage plan was drafted, which should also lead to spectators returning to the game (see below).

Handball: Enthusiasm at TSV Peißenberg is limited

“In the adult sector, I can easily imagine a gradual return to gaming and training. The situation is very different for the children, ”says Pierre Engelhardt, handball manager at TSV Peißenberg. The enthusiasm for these plans of the association remains within manageable limits. "We would need a lot more coaches and hall times, which is rather unrealistic," said Engelhardt.

Handball: BSC Oberhausen wants to wait for the children to start training

The handball players at the neighbor BSC Oberhausen see it in a similar way: “We have a high level of participation in training and only half a hall in our youth. These are bad prerequisites for implementing the eight-step plan, ”says Alexandra Vincenzi from the BSC department head. Therefore, the Oberhausen residents want to wait for the children to start training. "In June we will decide what to do next."

Handball: For now running, cycling and strength training

Then the BSC women will slowly start to prepare again. Until then, keep yourself fit with running sessions, cycling and strength training. "We are waiting for the development of 'Corona'," said Vincenzi, who does not want to break anything over the knee. A decision has already been made at the BSC: Andrea Daisenberger, half of the coaching team, has already given the green light for the coming season. The talks with the second trainer, Karin Feistl, are still ongoing.

Step-by-step plan of the German Handball Federation:

1. Autonomous training (athletics and / or technique training with training recommendations);

2. Individual training (athletics and / or technique training with partner or guidance from trainer);

3. Small group training outdoor (handball-specific training without duels outdoors);

4. Small group training indoor (handball-specific training without duels in the hall);

5. team training (handball-specific training without duels);

6. Team training plus (handball-specific training with duels);

7. Test game and competition operation (without audience);

8. Competition operation plus (game operation with audience).
