Munich - The football world is still a cosmos that is very much shaped by men, despite all attempts and activities. It is therefore not surprising that there are still good old man friendships there.

This usually arises when you meet every day for years and therefore spend almost more time with each other than with your own partner. Or simply experience particularly emotional moments together. A mixture of both may be the reason why there is such an intimate bond between Uli Hoeneß and Bastian Schweinsteiger

Not only that FCB patron Hoeneß saw the young Schweinsteiger growing up and overlooked one or the other little escapade. Together they also experienced the trauma of the “Finale dahaom” 2012 against Chelsea. And together they celebrated the triumph over BVB in Wembley a year later. In addition, Schweinsteiger and Hoeneß won countless championships and cup wins * side by side.

Sure, something like that welds together. Mostly one was on the court ( Schweinsteiger ) and the other on the grandstand ( Hoeneß ). But the most emotional moment between the two happened, according to the former president of FC Bayern , in completely different circumstances.

FC Bayern: Hoeneß experiences emotional Schweinsteiger moment when he is in prison

When the DFB team played the 2014 World Cup final in Rio in Maracana, Hoeneß was in prison . The FCB maker was serving his time in prison for tax evasion in Landsberg. Schweinsteiger, however, made himself immortal that day. Everyone still has the picture in mind when Schweinsteiger, drawn with a cut and completely debilitated, saved the scarce 1: 0 through Mario Götze's goal in the final minutes of the World Cup final and then raised the World Cup trophy to the sky .

Subsequently, the then FCB star addressed thankful words to Uli Hoeneß in a TV interview , which almost knocked him out of his seat at the time. "It knocked me out of bed because it was one of the most impressive experiences I've ever had," says Hoeneß in the film  Schw31ns7eiger: Memories - from the beginning to the legend , which will be shown on Amazon Prime on June 5.

"If he comes up with this idea at the moment, that was phew, unbelievable," continued the 68-year-old today. Schweinsteiger has now ended his active career after more than 500 games for FC Bayern * last year and lives in Chicago with his wife, tennis player Ana Ivanovic. Both recently enjoyed the birth of their second child.
