Berlin (dpa) - Hertha manager Michael Preetz conceded "communicative irritation" at the beginning of the collaboration with investor Lars Windhorst.
"Above all, it is about what was spread outside, we just heard these keywords: Big City Club, Champions League, German championship," said Preetz on Sunday on the TV show "Sky90" about the cooperation of the Berlin Bundesliga soccer team with Windhorst. At the beginning there were "labor pains" of a primarily communicative nature.
But there was "no dissent at all" on the matter. "We all want to move forward with Hertha BSC, we also want to see international football one day in Berlin, that must be the goal," said Preetz. "It was about the pace". Windhorst acquired 49.9 percent of Hertha BSC GmbH & Co. KGaA through its holding company Tennor for 224 million euros.
Preetz praised the exchange with the new supervisory board member and ex-national keeper Jens Lehmann. "These are two figures that are known in football," said Preetz about Lehmann and advisor Marc Kosicke, who is also new to the club's supervisory board. "It will be a matter of having an exchange with each other and using the quality and networks of the two for the benefit of Hertha BSC. We all have one goal in common, we want to bring Hertha BSC upwards".
