Zurich (dpa) - The rules keepers of the International Football Association Board (Ifab) have made some changes to the football rules for the 2020/21 season.
There have been adjustments, particularly in the case of the permanent controversial issue of handball, although they are not particularly serious. In handball, the IFAB draws a border between the shoulder (not punishable) and the arm (potentially punishable) at the level of the armpit when the arm is on.
An unintentional handball of the attacking team is also no longer punished in the creation of a goal or a chance to score. Handball is only punishable if the ball goes straight into the goal or a chance to score results from it. If, on the other hand, you continue to play after the unintentional handball by pass or dribbling, you will not be penalized.
Another change provides that a second yellow card in the penalty shootout no longer leads to a dismissal. In this sense, the penalty shootout is no longer part of the game.
In addition, a penalty kick is no longer repeated if the goalkeeper has committed a punishable offense, but the ball passes, over or on the aluminum without the intervention of the keeper.
