Ingolstadt - Even the twelve-week break could not get the little Bavarians off track. With the somewhat lucky 2-1 win in Ingolstadt on Saturday, promoted FC Bayern II celebrated their seventh victory in the eighth game of the year, thereby underpinning their status as the best third division team in the second half of the season. The relegation is almost guaranteed, the Munich can not advance anyway.
FC Bayern 2: close victory at the last minute
Timo Kern had given Bayern an early lead after fine preparation by young Korean Wooyeong Jeong (4th), but shortly before the break, the "Schanzer" equalized after a corner kick by Marcel Gaus (44th).
In the second round, unlike in halftime one, the place-winners were the dominant team, but the three points were still scored by the FCB youngsters. After Ingolstadt goal scorer Gaus had received a yellow-red card (88.), Chris Richards shortly afterwards used a buttery flank from Kwasi Okyere Wriedts to head the winner (89.).

In addition to Früchtl, the Bayern coach also had to do without Sarpreet Singh, Oliver Batista-Meier, Joshua Zirkzee, Mickael Cuisance, Leon Dajaku and Lars-Lukas Mai, all of whom belonged to the professional squad. The small Bavarians lived up to their reputation as the strongest team in the third division, even after a break of almost three months.
"The team was really hot for it," said Hoeneß, "to continue where we left off before the break."
Mission time for U-19 talents?
