Officially: bricklayer has to go, who will be his successor?

Türkgücü Munich and Reiner Maurer have not renewed their expiring contract. Who will take on the coaching position at the regional league leader?

Munich - Now it's official: Reiner Maurer and Türkgücü Munich are now going their separate ways. Recently there have been increasing rumors of an end to the collaboration. The regional league leader announced the split on its social media channels on Sunday . “The contract of Reiner Maurer, which expires today, will not be extended. We would like to thank Reiner for the successful season, the good cooperation and wish him all the best and good luck for his future, ”says the message.

Türkgücü Munich: future and promotion in 3rd league unclear 

Maurer took over as coach at the ambitious promotion in summer 2019. At the moment, Türkgücü is nine points ahead of 1. FC Schweinfurt at the top of the Regionalliga Bayern . There is nothing to stop you from advancing to the third division . Nevertheless, there is uncertainty among the Munich people. "There still has to be a lot to make sure that it fits with the ascent," said Managing Director Max Kothny in mid-May. The stadium issue is a hurdle in the licensing process. Most recently, there was even speculation about a move to the Olympic Stadium. The league affiliation for the coming season remains unclear.

Türkgücü Munich: Reiner Maurer would like to have continued in the 3rd division

The 60-year-old coach would have liked to have looked after the team in the 3rd division . “It would be astonishing for me, however, if we went our separate ways. We were and are extremely successful. In terms of development and tabular, we are at the maximum of what has been possible this season. I think the 3rd division is very interesting, I would like to work there, I qualified in terms of sport, ” Maurer commented on the separation rumors in a kicker interview in mid-May. A successor to the coaching post at Türkgücü has not yet been presented. 

Türkgücü is upgrading its junior staff

In the youth division, however, Regionalliga-Primus is upgrading and introducing two new signings. Alban Zinsou is the youth coordinator for the Munich team. He has been training the U19 of TuS Geretsried since summer 2018 . "Alban is an absolute specialist, who has been doing very good work in the field of young talent for years and is very well networked," say the managers. In addition, Helmut Lehnert could be committed to scouting the next generation. Most recently he was the large field coordinator at SV Planegg-Krailing .
