Leipzig (dpa) - Sports Director Markus Krösche has emphasized the importance of a qualification for the Champions League for the transfer plans of RB Leipzig.
"It is important that we have planning certainty, and we achieve that primarily by being in the top four," said the 39-year-old from "Sport Bild". The upcoming appointment for the purchase options with Timo Werner, Angelino and Patrik Schick does not make him nervous. "I'm completely relaxed there and let us face the day of a decision with all personal details," he said.
With Dayot Upamecano and Kevin Kampl they are in good discussions and would like to keep both in Saxony. "Even in these cases it is not unimportant to know how we end the season in terms of sport."
Five games before the end of the season, Leipzig is in third place in the Bundesliga table. In fifth place and Bayer Leverkusen, the lead is two points, and RBL has the clearly better goal difference. Borussia Dortmund in second place is two points ahead of RBL.
