Bremen (dpa) - Werder coach Florian Kohfeldt has changed his team in four positions compared to 1-0 at FC Schalke 04.
Especially on the offensive, the Bremen coach relies on fresh strength in the home game against Eintracht Frankfurt. Davie Selke, Yuya Osako and Fin Bartels move into the Werder starting eleven.
For Bartels it is the first assignment from the beginning in 907 days. Most recently, he was in the starting line-up on December 9, 2017, but then suffered an Achilles tendon tear in the Bundesliga game at Borussia Dortmund. Since then, it has only been used as a wild card every now and then. "I have complete confidence in Fin and I'm looking forward to him today," said Kohfeldt shortly before the game on TV channel Sky and emphasized: "He is very hot, I know that."
For this, among other things, Leonardo Bittencourt, who most recently scored the winning goal in both away games in Freiburg and Schalke, initially sits on the bench. In defense, the last suspended Milos Veljkovic returns to the North German Bundesliga club.
Frankfurt coach Adi Hütter, on the other hand, only makes one change compared to the 2-1 victory at VfL Wolfsburg. For Timothy Chandler, Almamy Toure is starting.
