The AFC announcement of the proposed dates for completing the double qualifiers for the World Cup and Asian Cup constituted a good opportunity to prepare, especially for our national team, which is at the forefront of the first group in these qualifiers.
The completion of the remaining matches in the qualifiers for our team will be during the months of October and the second, which gives our coach Nabil Maaloul a good period to prepare, and who confirmed that he has enough time to prepare tough Eagles for the upcoming official benefits in terms of setting up training camps and conducting friendly matches.
And our team is away at the top of Group A with 15 points, ahead of China’s second team by 7 points, the Philippines team comes third at 7 points as well and the Maldives team with 6 points and the Guam team occupies fifth and last without points.
The AFC approved the matches of the seventh and eighth rounds on the 8th and 13th of October 2020, respectively, while the matches of the 9th and 10th rounds will be held on the 12th and 17th of November.
Our team had five wins in the double qualifiers for the 2022 World Cup and 2023 AFC Asian Cup, beating the Philippines twice 5-2, 1-0, Maldives 2-1, Guam 4-0, and China 2-1.
