The Portuguese coach said he is planning an "exotic experience" in Brazil or Japan at the end of next season.

André Villas-Boas does not intend to make old bones on the Canebière. On the verge of leaving Olympique de Marseille a few weeks ago after the departure of sports director and friend Andoni Zubizaretta, the Portuguese was finally caught in extremis by the Marseille management. The former Porto coach has agreed to stay one more year but this additional season should be that of the keel.

Saturday, when he had just taken part in the election of the president of FC Porto, his former club (2010-2011), the former assistant of José Mourinho at Chelsea then at Inter Milan confided on his to come up. And when the local media asked him about a possible return to the Dragons which he himself deemed "not impossible", Villas-Boas went further, recalling in the preamble that he did not intend to retire on the bench in 2024 after 15 years of activity. "I don't want to anticipate anything. I said that my coaching career would cover 15 years, it could end in 2024. We will see, ”he said.

"Given the four years that I still want to do as a coach, a year as a Marseille coach, then a more exotic experience in Brazil or Japan"

Pending a possible return to Porto, Villas-Boas would like to have at least one more experience in another country. This could occur at the end of the 2020-2021 season after taking part in the Champions League with OM. "Given the four years I still want to do as a coach, a year as a Marseille coach, then a more exotic experience in Brazil or Japan," said the winner of the 2011 Europa League with Porto .

Villas-Boas never stays more than two seasons in a club

Since his continental triumph nine years ago, the 42-year-old Portuguese has multiplied experiences abroad, passing successively through Chelsea (2011-2012), Tottenham (2012-2013), the Zenith Saint-Petersburg (2014-2016 ), the Shanghai SIPG (2016-2017) before discovering Ligue 1. All these adventures have never lasted more than two seasons. OM should not be an exception to this rule.
