The Bavarian Football Association (BFV) is continuing its special path. In contrast to almost all other regional associations, the current season from the C-Class to the Regionalliga Bayern is to be continued from September 1 - at the expense of the following season.
Würmtal - In a press release the BFV announced at the weekend that "the 2020/21 season cannot take place for men and women due to time constraints and lack of game dates". The 2020/21 season is therefore completely canceled, instead the season started in summer 2019 will be the longest season of all time. The season finale will definitely take place in the spring of 2021, the association said. The association hopes this will bring the season to a close in front of many spectators, as well as enough buffers for corona-related losses. In addition, weekends that become free are to be filled with a not yet defined additional offer for regular league game operations.
How are the associations in the Würmtal reacting to these new plans? Dissatisfaction was already great after the vote to continue the season. Four of seven clubs were against it at that time (TSV Graefelfing, SV Planegg-Krailling, Gautinger SC, DJK Würmtal). The resentment has not decreased. Jens Rindermann, head of the football department at Gautinger SC, finds the clearest words. He believes that the remaining season, stretched into spring, will be a "miserably long farce". For both Gautingen men's teams (district class and B class), the remaining games are neither about promotion nor relegation, and many players have to drive a lot. "Teams could completely disintegrate," predicts Rindermann. "This decision is under all cannons. If that's the solution, it's a bottomless cheek. ”Rindermann's only remaining hope for sporting added value lies in the announced additional competition.
Ayhan Kurt, head of the soccer department at SV Planegg-Krailling, second division, is speechless: “I don't know what you think. I can't think of anything else. ”He also expects negative consequences for the motivation of the players. Kurt: "Many clubs could lose athletes."
Stefan Schmidt from local rival TSV Graefelfing can also see little positive in the BFV plans: “There is a huge circus and effort involved. You should have just put a point. ”He believes that smaller clubs have to pay for the decisions made in the interests of the regional leagues. Most of them voted last Wednesday to continue the season. Schmidt: “It's all about money. Unfortunately, our chairman (editor's note: BFV President Dr. Rainer Koch) has moved a bit far from the amateur side. It's way too much would-be professionalism. ”
Volker Levering from the district league team TSV Neuried adopts more conciliatory tones. "We expected it. We still have to sit down, but basically we will try to make the best of it, ”said the football board. Peter Mühlbauer, sporting director of men at A-Klassisten TV Stockdorf, is also not surprised. “The decision is basically consistent. We have to wait and see if we can play again after September 1st. ”
Thomas Gollong, head of the football department at A-Class Primus DJK Würmtal, also finds the current solution "reasonably five". So you don't get into deadlines, "otherwise everything will be too stressful". Franz Möhwald, trainer at A-Klassist TSV Pentenried since spring, thinks the solution is quite complex, but he “doesn't really care” in the end.
