The BFV has submitted resolutions for youth football: the season is being broken off for the juniors - it is continuing for the juniors

District - The board of the Bavarian Football Association ( BFV ) has decided to cancel the current and currently suspended 2019/20 season for the juniors and for the juniors from September 1 - if possible by government regulations - analogous to the game operations for the men and continue women.

Complexity requires separate sub-grouping in juniors

"The decision matured in the working groups over weeks," said association youth leader Florian Weißmann (40) from Markt Schwaben yesterday in an online press conference of the BFV.

The board had thus followed the suggestion of the solution working group (LAG) game operation league and cup juniors. Due to its complexity, this was divided into the separate subgroup juniors.

There can be no normal seasonal transition, explained Weißmann.

Ascent should be treated more generously - but not too generously

For the boys, the final tables are now created on the basis of a quotient rule “in order to smooth the tables”.

The association youth leader promised that “the ascent would be treated more generously, but not too generously”. "We want to handle it flexibly."

The best placed team entitled to promotion and the team standing on a promotion delegation place will be promoted. Teams that had 80 percent of the first-place quotient score would also be given the option by the BFV through all classes, from Bayernliga down to the groups, to apply for the higher division.

Relegation should only occur if teams have remained pointless in the current season

A basic condition: "The groups will not grow larger than ten teams."

This in turn will also result in an increase in the number of leagues, according to the Schwabener market, which is even expecting to double.

Relegation should only occur if teams have remained pointless in the current season.

The BFV official promised that relevant information (also in other webinars) would follow by Thursday.

Sub-grouping in juniors is required

These LAG recommendations, which are different for juniors, can be attributed to the sometimes large differences in game play.

Therefore, shortly after the first conferences, two subgroups were formed that explicitly dealt with the respective game operations.

Here, club representatives from all over Bavaria and different game and age groups worked out the suggestions together with the BFV experts.

Young men have different framework conditions than men

"It may come as a surprise at first glance that we at the juniors come to the end of the current season, while the season is over for the adults and juniors," said Florian Weißmann

However, there were completely different framework conditions for young men than for men, for example.

"It starts with the fact that over half of the 14,100 teams in the C to F junior division of juniors are active in non-promotional games and thus in pure grassroots sport."

Another important aspect is the "targeted and cross-vintage talent promotion," emphasized the association youth leader.

"At the same time, the inconsistent game class and the different league structures at district, district and association level must be taken into account."

The issue of “attachment” is very important for the juniors

In the juniors, however, another important factor plays an extremely large role, which clearly speaks against abandonment.

“The issue of 'bonding' the players is much more important for the clubs than for adults or juniors,” explains Sandra Hofmann, who worked as chair of the association's women's and girls' committee in the junior subgroup.

“It's not just because we have a lot fewer juniors playing than we do with the juniors. The social component plays an immense role for the majority of girls, despite all their sporting ambitions. Playing together in a grown team is often more important than performance. ”

Association worries about high loss of players

Right from the start, one of the biggest concerns for the club representatives was that if the season ended and the subsequent change occurred before the start of the season "to lose massive numbers of players and possibly no longer be able to provide a team," said Hofmann.

Now teams have the chance to "end the season together as a team". Another consequence is that, for example, the women born in 2004 (still U17) will now also be able to use women.

"The focus is more on the performance of the boys and more of the commitment of the girls", Weißmann concluded the BFV analysis.
