Günter Bayer will remain with SC Oberweikertshofen as a coach beyond the current season. He signs a two-year contract.

Oberweikertshofen-When the contract was signed, Bayer did not know how long the collaboration would last. "The contract is for the next season and could run for one year, but also two," said the trainer. It was not yet known whether the 2020/2021 season could be carried out. Two days later, however, the working group set up by the Bavarian Football Association (BFV) submitted a proposal that the BFV had already agreed to: the currently interrupted season will be extended until June 31, and the following season will be canceled. In plain language, this means that Bayer's contract is valid for the 2021/2022 season.

It didn't matter to Bayer anyway, whether he was bound to the village club until 2021 or 2022. "From the beginning, the collaboration was not intended for just one season," he says. The environment fits, the relationship with the team is good, the success is there too. The SCO may still hope for the relegation place or even the championship in the planned continuation of the district league as the current third in the table.

You are currently looking for reinforcements at SC Oberweikertshofen

That is why one is currently looking for reinforcements - especially since there have been a few gaps in the defense: veteran Dino Jurkovic said goodbye to Kosova Munich in January, Marco Schnellinger becomes a police officer and is no longer available for full time due to work reasons. And Fabio Gonschior is in Miami as part of his studies - at least he could be back by the beginning. Bayer plans to retain and selectively strengthen the rest of the young and promising squad. "So that we are able to play at the front in the long run," he says.

Uli Bergmann is available again

Manager Uli Bergmann is now again increasingly available for team planning after he has ended his engagement with the regional league team FC Pipinsried. Bergmann makes no secret of the fact that the double-track work was complex. "Working at Pipinsried was intense - but positive intensive," he says. Every day there were things left and right that he had to take care of. Twelve to 15 hours of soccer a day were normal.

Without the work for the regional league from the Dachau district, Bergmann can now get more involved in the SCO, as he says. However, he doubts that he can also benefit from his higher-class commitment to the player staff for the village club. "Regional league and district league are of course different leagues." The SCO could not participate in players that are interesting for Pipinsried. "They want to play higher class," said Bergmann.
