Madrid-SANA
Spanish Premier League leaders Barcelona won four goals yesterday for nothing at home to struggling Ria for Mallorca.
The defending champion started the match brilliantly when Chilean midfielder Arturo Vidal scored a plane header in the second minute, while Danish international Martin Braithwaite scored his first goal for Barcelona at the end of the first half.
Jordi Alba added a third goal for Barcelona in the 79th minute after receiving a pass from Lionel Messi who also made Braithwaite's goal.
The Argentine player ended the quartet with a shot that changed direction in stoppage time.
The victory raised Barcelona's balance to 61 points from 28 games, five points behind Real Madrid, its closest attachment, who hosts Eibar today in its first match after the resumption of the season, while Mallorca is in 18th place.
