Villarreal kept his hopes to qualify for the European League next season after striker Carlos Baka netted the net in the first half to lead to a 1-0 victory over struggling Real Mallorca in the Primera Liga today.
With this result, Villarreal climbed two places to seventh with 44 points from 29 games, two points behind sixth-placed Atletico Madrid who owns an additional match, while Mallorca remained in the 18th place with 25 points and the defeat weakened its hopes of avoiding relegation.
