Ligue 1 to 22 clubs next season? This is the dream of Amiens and Toulouse, whose relegation to Ligue 2 has recently been suspended by the Council of State. Except that the bodies of French football are opposed to an enlargement of the elite, for financial and calendar reasons in particular. As reported by AFP on Friday, the Board of Directors of the Professional Football League (LFP) voted against this enlargement. The hopes of Amiens and Toulouse have not (yet) flown away: it is indeed the General Assembly which is competent to decide in this matter. And a General Assembly was just convened next Tuesday at 10 am, according to the same source. With a Happy End for Amiens and Toulouse? Remember that the shutdown of Ligue 1 was signed on April 30 by the League.
