PSG: Neymar ordered to pay 6.7 million euros in Barcelona

Since the Brazilian's departure for PSG in the summer of 2017, the two parties have been fighting a fierce legal battle, regardless of the player's desire to return to Catalonia, particularly expressed in the summer of 2019.

In 2016, Neymar had extended its contract with Barça until 2021. A signature that included an extension bonus of € 40 million, or € 8 million per season. As of July 1, 2017, Neymar had therefore received € 16 million in total. But, a month later, he was transferred to PSG against the 222 M € equivalent to his release clause. Angry at this attitude, the blaugrana club lodged a complaint for "breach of contract" and demanded the return of the premiums as well as € 8.5 million in damages. After trying in vain to appeal to Fifa, the Neymar clan retaliated with a complaint to demand payment of the additional € 26 million.

Neymar can appeal this decision, which he will no doubt do, he who is still claiming € 6.5 million from the Catalan club following a dispute with the Spanish tax authorities linked to the financial arrangement carried out by Barça to facilitate its transfer from Santos in 2013.

Back in France after having spent his confinement in Brazil, Neymar had joined some of his teammates on the Saint-Tropez side. The resumption of training for PSG is scheduled for Monday, June 22 with the objectives of the finals of the French Cup and the League, July 24 and 31, before the "Final 8" of the Champions League, from August 12 , in Lisbon.
