Arsenal sinks completely

2020-06-21T04:57:30.729Z

After its defeat against Manchester City on Wednesday, Arsenal again disappointed by losing to Brighton (2-1) on the 30th day this Saturday. A result which distances the Gunners a little more from a European place.

Nothing is going right at Arsenal. Defeated Wednesday in Manchester City (3-0) for the resumption of the Premier League, the Gunners stretched the other cheek this Saturday in Brighton. With the sad bonus the serious injury of their goalkeeper, Bernd Leno, forced to give up his place in the 40th minute of play. But despite this new odd, Mikel Arteta's men seemed to have achieved the hardest with the opening score Nicolas Pépé in the 68th minute of play (0-1) while Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was denied a goal in the 52nd minute for an offside reported thanks to the VAR. A goal from Pépé which will remain the only good news of the day for the London team which ended the meeting curled up in its camp. A lack of ambition sanctioned by an equalization by the defender of the Seagulls Lewis Dunk (1-1, 75th) before the French Neal Maupay crucified the Gunners in stoppage time (2-1). A defeat that stuck Arsenal in 9th place in the ranking. Far, farther and farther from European places.

For its part, Leicester let slip two important points in the race for the Champions League by being joined in additional time by the poorly classified Watford (1-1). Third, Jamie Vardy's teammates could have relegated Chelsea, fourth, at 8 points and especially Manchester United, fifth and first team not virtually qualified for C1, at 10, but the gap is ultimately only 6 and 8 units . The Foxes really thought they had done the hard part by opening the score with a superb pure and crossed strike from their side Ben Chilwell at the last minute of regulation time, which struck the inside of the post of the skylight before returning (1 -0, 90e). But on a smashed corner, defender Craig Dawson has split a very good return that Kasper Schmeichel could not leave the frame, to score the draw for the club of the suburbs of London (1-1 , 90 + 3).
