The daily L'Equipe reveals today that justice has reopened the complaint filed by Julie Boursier, swimmer from Sarcelle, after a first classification without result in 2019.

French sport has been affected this year by an unprecedented wave of revelations of cases of sexual violence in different disciplines, such as figure skating, football, horse riding, climbing, skiing and even athletics. The daily L'Equipe revives in its edition of the day a case in the world of swimming, which concerns the swimmer Julie Boursier, victim of attacks which would have occurred in the premises of her club, the AAS Sarcelles (1,250 licensees), between the end of August 2010 and October 2013.

Complaint

In a complaint filed on July 2, 2018, Julie Boursier (aged 15 at the time of the events) denounces repeated rapes by one of her teammates, of which she was the victim in a shared locker room by the pool. Two minutes repeat his statements made at the Gonesse police station, first, then at the Montsoult gendarmerie, in February 2019.

"He forced the door, he came in, blocked me. He kissed me forcibly and I don't know how, he started to insert his fingers, almost every time… ”

Julie Boursier, about her alleged assailant

“Between January 2011 and July, he came to my cabin several times at the Sarcelles swimming pool. He forced the door, he came in, blocked me. He kissed me forcibly and I don't know how, he started to insert his fingers, almost every time (…) He held me against the walls (…) He bit my lips so that I didn't make any noise (…) Sometimes I was so tired of training that I waited for it to happen. I was ashamed. "

Confrontation

Classified for the first time without result in 2019, after a confrontation between Julie Boursier and her alleged attacker, the case rebounded in 2020 after the revelation of new testimonies, brought together by the interested party and his mother. Notified of the case by mail in July 2018, the French Swimming Federation is said to have remained silent at first. Justice decided to reopen the investigation and the mother of Julie Boursier was heard by the gendarmerie at the end of May.
