Gatherings of more than 5,000 people are still prohibited in France, as part of the deconfinement process, and football should not benefit from any exemption. While the football authorities were hoping for a relaxation of the regulations, the Ministry of Sports has transmitted in recent days to the French Football Federation and the Professional Football League of information, confirming a very small gauge of 5000 people. Clubs must be informed this Friday.
PSG will face Saint-Etienne on Friday July 24 in the final of the Coupe de France (organized by the FFF) then Lyon on Friday July 31 in the final of the Coupe de la Ligue (organized by the LFP).
Despite the end of the state of health emergency on July 11, it is the current maximum gauge that has so far been retained. Some actors, starting with Noël Le Graët, would still like to move the lines, but the scenario described is for the moment that of a capacity identical to that of the friendly match Le Havre - PSG, on July 12 in a 25,000 seat stadium. However, it is still planned that the match will take place at the Stade de France. Even if the maximum gauge for outdoor gatherings were to be relaxed on July 11, it seems unlikely that plans will be revised upward for these events.
Probably without ultras
The contingent of 5000 people includes all the stakeholders of the event: players, staffs, staff. As a result, the general public quota allocated to each club should barely exceed a thousand tickets.
Several ultra groups had already announced that they would not return to the stands if the conditions were too incompatible with their way of living their passion. Thus, according to our information, the Collective Ultras Paris as well as the two main groups of Saint-Etienne, the Magic Fans and the Green Angels, would strongly consider in this context not to attend the final (s) which concern them.
The supporters demanded (and obtained) that the televisions do not broadcast soundtrack or virtual crowd image to replace the songs of the absent supporters. Fan groups should however be able to display their colors in the stadium, as the Parisians had done for PSG-Dortmund on March 11.
