The finals of the Coupe de France (July 24) and the Coupe de la Ligue (July 31) will be played well with a limit of 5,000 spectators. In view of the current health situation, the summary judge of the Council of State considered that the ban on gatherings of more than 5000 people, dating from the decree of May 31, is still justified.
And football will not benefit from any exemption as revealed in our columns on July 3. While the football authorities were hoping for a relaxation of the regulations, the Ministry of Sports had transmitted last week to the French Football Federation (FFF) and the Professional Football League (LFP) of information, confirming a very limited gauge of 5000 people, despite the end of the state of health emergency on July 11.
This decision will therefore prevent Parisian and Stéphanois supporters from traveling en masse to the Stade de France, on the occasion of the Coupe de France final on Friday, July 24. Ditto for their neighbors in Lyon, who will not be able to travel in numbers to encourage their team for the final of the League Cup on Friday July 31.
