Chambly: "continue to climb the ladder", says Bradley Danger

2020-07-10T22:18:50.768Z

The central defender intends to revive with Chambly. Trained in Le Havre, where he had rubbed Harold Moukoudi as young people, he will discover the League

A pure product of Le Havre training, where its partners, among young people, were notably Harold Moukoudi (Saint-Etienne) and Pape Gueye (Marseille), central defender Bradley Danger (22 years old) will have his first experience in Ligue 2 with Chambly. The senior club had him sign his first professional contract in June 2018 before lending it immediately to Avranches (National), then releasing him after a year. After two seasons at Avranches, he now intends to relaunch himself with Chambly opposite, this Saturday, at Boulogne (National) for his first preparation match (at 5 p.m. in Gouvieux).

That's it, you finally hit Ligue 2 with your finger…

Bradley Danger. I've been waiting for this for quite some time. Especially when I was in Le Havre. I made benches in L2, and I was going on my 17 years when I started to train with the pro group. When it happens so early, we aspire to play. But I couldn't take my first steps at this level. Of course it's a dream to be able to play in Ligue 2…

Is it a relief ?

No, because I trust myself and my qualities. I knew that by working hard and if I was good in National with Avranches, I would find a professional contract.

When Le Havre separated from you after this loan to Avranches, a player tweeted "Good luck my Brad, I'm not worried about you". You remember ?

I don't have Twitter.

In fact, it was Harold Moukoudi…

(Cuts) I suspected it was him.

Why ?

We are good friends. We often played together as young people in Le Havre, we often talk. He gives me advice from time to time, because he's still quite a player. He knows my qualities. He knows that I have the potential to play in a Ligue 2 team. It is heart-warming to hear that.

He had paired his tweet with two hashtags, #LeDangereux, and # MonJoueurPréférés…

LeDangereux is in relation to my name (laughs). With a group of friends, they like to call me that. It is always an honor for a player like that to say that I am his favorite player. We like our respective styles of play. With Harold, we would like to replay together if the opportunity arises one day.

Good luck my Brad '💙💙 .. I don't worry about you. #LeDangereux # MonJoueurPreferred https://t.co/BnJ188Wdzh

How did you welcome the decision of Le Havre, your training club?

I was not stunned or sad. I was very happy to sign in my training club, the club in my region. I live near Le Havre, for me it was magnificent. It was a dream. The fact of not having been extended after this loan of one year to Avranches, was, perhaps, an evil for a good. Mentally I was ready to go and try something else ...

Did you get an explanation?

We came to the information to find out what they intended to do, but we did not have any real explanations. I would have liked to know the real reasons, but I have no regrets. I am not resentful at all towards the club, I always carry it in my heart.

If we can play the spoilsports why not

How does it feel to see the trajectory of some of your former teammates, Harold Moukoudi today in Saint-Etienne and Pape Gueye who has just signed in Marseille…

It's pride. They are friends, friends. I am not surprised, I know the soccer qualities of these guys. It is an honor to have played with them, I am happy with what they are doing.

We don't say to ourselves, "I could have also"?

Everyone has their own journey… But of course when I see friends in clubs like that, I tell myself that by working hard, why not me too one day? Anyway, it's in my head, it's a goal to continue to level up. But one thing at a time. Today I'm in Chambly, I hope to play as many matches as possible with the club, we'll see at the end of the season or in two years.

Have you never lost contact with them?

We have a small group on Snapchat. We are full of elders of my generation, that of Moukoudi, that of the Pope. We talk almost every day about this group. We spent almost all of our youth together, it's important to keep in touch.

You were European U17 champion in 2015. What memories do you keep of this?

I had played the 3rd group match. I have lots of memories of the title. It's amazing to live it at 15-16 years old. Everything is disproportionate at this age. The moment we brandish the cup, the preparation camp in the south of France, the friendly matches, the moment we arrive at the hotel. When you enter the field in the final and you see the 15-20,000 people in the stadium, it's impressive. It is a pride to play for France.

You arrive at Chambly. Is this your opportunity to relaunch?

This is an opportunity to continue to climb the ladder. I just did two years in National, the logical continuation is the L2 and Chambly seems to me the best project for me because it is a very family club. It aspires to maintain itself, already, but if we can play the spoilsports why not ...
