The Conmebol Council met today in Paraguay and estimated the return of the Qualifiers, the Copa Libertadores and the Copa Sudamericana.

The return to continental football in South America is getting closer. During today's session, the Council of Football in the CONMEBOL met in Luque , Paraguay , to bring positions on resumption dates for the qualifiers for the Copa Libertadores and the Copa Sudamericana.

World Cup Qualifiers

In Paraguay, it was proposed that the Qualifiers would begin in October , postponing the date of September. To recover the September date, the time will be January 2021. In addition, FIFA confirmed this information and the matter is closed. The Playoffs end in March of 2022 and repechage in June of 2022 . We remember that the World Cup will be played in November or December

Copa Libertadores and South American

On the other hand, the Copa Libertadores would start on September 15. Two dates are played from this competition, so there would be 4 group stages and the crosses. The idea is for it to end at the end of the year, but all of this remains pending as the pandemic evolves. The South American Cup would begin on October 27 , a month after the Libertadores and the idea is also to end before the end of the year.

Both cups are expected to finish before the end of the year, although it is debated that the finals will be in January 2021.
