Maccabi Rishon Lezion impressively finished the top house when it won Maccabi Tel Aviv tonight (Sunday) 77:86, thus recording a second victory in ten days over the champion and the leader.
The Yellows lacked Tyler Dorsey, Quincy Acey and Eliza Bryant, but that was no excuse for them to score less than 80 points on their home turf. Only three years ago did they defeat Hapoel Jerusalem with the same vehicle. This time Yuval Sussman led the scoring list with 18 points and also added 7 rebounds, but Scottie Wilbkin was stopped on just 5 and so it is hard to beat a Rishon-level team.
On the other hand, until the Orange Corona did not even win the team once in yellow, and now with a significant boost in the form of Zach Henkins (18 points) they reach the playoffs and the Final Four in a much better psychological position. Adam Ariel also kept warming the handle (13 points on 3-of-6 from beyond the arc) and the Oranges look perfectly prepared for the quarterfinals on Thursday.
