Dashon Jackson accepted an invitation to visit Auschwitz with a 94-year-old Holocaust survivor, according to a report in the Jerusalem Post. As you may recall, the football player caused a stir when he posted antisemitic messages attributed to Adolf Hitler on his Instagram account. Jackson then apologized and according to ESPN he intends to donate a significant amount to the benefit of the Jewish community.

Following this, Jackson had a videotaped video of a conversation with Edward Mossberg, a Holocaust survivor, who was wearing his concentration camp uniform.

In an open letter he published last week, Mossberg invited Jackson to visit Auschwitz. Mossberg survived many concentration camps, including Mauthausen, saying his late wife was an Auschwitz survivor. "From The Depth," an organization that supports Holocaust survivors in which Mossberg serves as honorary chairman, arranges the details of the tour with Jackson.

"We are pleased that Dashon has agreed, and are working with him and his team to set a date for the visit," said the organization's founder Johnny Daniels, who initiated the zoom conversation between Jackson and Mossberg.

Jackson told on his Instagram about the conversation, including a screenshot. "I grew up in Los Angeles and never got to hang out with anyone from the Jewish community, and I didn't know much about their history. It was a very powerful experience for me, learning and educating myself," he said during the conversation.

The Eagles player added: "I want to take the right steps so people know I have never intentionally had hatred in my heart. I never wanted to hurt the Jewish community. I want to educate myself more and help bridge the gaps between all the different cultures."
