Hapoel Tel Aviv sent a letter to several players informing them that their contract was unilaterally canceled. The Corona is defined as a "force majeure" and therefore the agreement is not in force.

In the letter, the players were offered a new contract in the amount of 40 percent of the existing salary. The players received the announcement by surprise and are investigating the matter legally. In the next day, the players are expected to contact an attorney, when as things stand at the moment, all five will come with the club to court.

"This is a neighborhood," said Hapoel players who added: "We have never heard of such a thing. No team in the Premier League has done such a thing. We need to sit down and examine the consequences of such a move unilaterally. On the face of it, this is ostensibly an illegal move."
