FIFA and the Qatari organization of the 2022 World Cup formalized the calendar for the 2022 edition on Wednesday, which will exceptionally take place in winter. Qatar will kick off its World Cup on Monday November 21 at the Al Bayt stadium at 1 p.m. local time (11 a.m. in France). Four matches per day over twelve days will follow at 1 p.m., 4 p.m., 7 p.m. and 10 p.m. (11 a.m., 2 p.m., 5 p.m., 8 p.m. in France). Direct elimination matches will take place at 6 p.m. or 10 p.m. (4 p.m. or 8 p.m. in France). The final will be played at 4 p.m. (French time) at Stade Lusail on December 18.
The group draw is scheduled for March 2022, while the date for the draw for the qualifiers for the Europe zone is still not fixed.
