Hapoel Eilat tonight (Monday) signed Ariel Beit Halachmi on a contract for the next two years. The coach, who won two consecutive European Championships with the reserve team (2018 and 2019), started last season at Hapoel Tel Aviv, but was fired after a bad season opener. As we announced a few weeks ago, he is set to return to his role on the reserve team after Guy Goodes' contract expires.
Beit Halachmi will replace Arik Alfasi, who left after not being promoted to the playoffs, and the option in his contract for another season has not been exercised.
The 54-year-old coach began his career at Maccabi Givat Shmuel, where he coached youth teams as well as the senior team with which he reached the playoff semifinals and the state cup final. Beit Halachmi also coached Elitzur Ashkelon, Urbani Nahariya, Bnei Hasharon, Hapoel Gilboa Galil and, as mentioned, Hapoel Tel Aviv.
