OM buyout: Ajroudi responds to McCourt's court summons

2020-07-23T11:41:13.105Z

In a statement, the Franco-Tunisian businessman made a point of responding to the leaders of the OM following the legal summons of the latter.

The soap opera continues. After OM's decision to bring Mohamed Ayachi Ajroudi and Mourad Boudjellal to justice to "convict the perpetrators of this destabilization campaign", the main parties wanted to respond via a press release unveiled on the La Provence site . In the absence of progress on the merits, the battle for press releases is raging between the two parties. The Ajroudi clan, via its lawyers, qualifies the attitude of OM leaders as a "denigrating press campaign" and "an aggressive strategy". A rhetoric that echoes the arguments also deployed by McCourt and Eyraud for the attention of the Franco-Tunisian businessman.

Regarding the OM legal attack, the representatives of Mohamed Ayachi Ajroudi believe that "this procedure is obviously more media than legal". Translation: the McCourt-Eyraud duo, in the eyes of the project carried out for the acquisition of the club by the Ajroudi-Boudjellal duo, wanted to respond in the media, without real desire to move the discussion to the legal field. In the remainder of the press release, the profile of the possible future buyer is highlighted, as is the interest of the takeover. “He chose OM because Marseille is precisely the city in which this sport makes a strong contribution to dialogue and fraternity beyond the usual divisions in our societies. His project has already met with a very important echo among the supporters who feel the sincerity of his commitment to OM which he knows is much more than a business! "
