The Panini publishing house, known for its footballer stickers to collect and exchange in playgrounds, has decided to wear the colors of the Grande Boucle. Launched for the first time in 2019 for the centenary of the Yellow Jersey, the Panini Tour de France album is back for a new edition this July. “Runners, routes, towns crossed, passes, bonus points, jerseys…Everything is gathered in this officially licensed album, essential to follow the most prestigious of road races from day to day ”, specifies the Italian firm.
In total, 384 stickers and 44 playing cards are to be collected to complete the 2020 album, some in tribute to Raymond Poulidor, who died last November. “Panini made a point of paying particular tribute to the most popular of French riders, unfairly qualified as the eternal second (…) It was unthinkable not to go back on the career of this true legend of French sport,” adds Panini. A collection to be completed while awaiting the start of the Tour de France scheduled for August 29, in Nice, after having been postponed due to the health crisis.
