The die is cast. After the qualifications of FC Barcelona (3-1 victory over Naples) and Bayern Munich (4-1 victory against Chelsea) this Saturday evening, we know all of the qualifiers for the "Final 8" of the Champions League, in Lisbon (August 12-23). All matches will take place behind closed doors, in the stadiums of Benfica and Sporting CP. First in line, Paris Saint-Germain will face Atalanta Bergamo on August 12, at the Estadio da Luz, to open the quarter-final ball. A match in which Thomas Tuchel will most likely have to do without the services of Marco Verratti and Kylian Mbappé. Angel Di Maria is suspended. Never mind, the champions of France are three matches from a first coronation in C1. A first for them since… 1995. Yes, because there will be no return matches in Lisbon. Dry match for everyone. We can imagine exciting encounters and suspense to spare, even if the charm of these second rounds will be missed by everyone. Return of second leg matches in 2020-21.

We therefore know all the posters of the quarter-finals of this #ChampionsLeague vintage 2019-20 after the qualifications of Barça and Bayern, and therefore the table of Final 8. Who will lift the trophy on August 23, in Lisbon? #PronoTime

Paris-SG will not be the only representative of French football in Portugal, however. Despite their defeat in Turin (2-1), Friday, in the round of 16 second leg, the Lyonnais will also be in the game. They will challenge Manchester City on August 15, at the Estadio José Alvalade. Note that the two French clubs still in contention in C1 cannot meet before the final, on August 23. We know that Paris will face, in the event of qualifications, the winner of the quarter between Leipzig and Atlético. For Lyon, it would be Barça or Bayern. “We know that we have a way to go which is a real path to the Champions League, blows Rudi Garcia. We did a real feat against Juventus. And we will do everything to do the feat against Manchester City. They are superior to us. But Juve were too. That did not prevent us from qualifying… ”Chiche? Note that we had not seen two French clubs in C1 quarterfinals since 2015, with Paris and Monaco. Neither had seen the half at the time… And in Lisbon? All matches will start at 9 p.m.
