Phoenix Suns players celebrate with Devin Booker (from Twitter)

Fascinating games were held tonight (Saturday through Sunday) in the NBA when we were in the very last line before the playoffs. The Lakers and Portland lost, Denver made a tremendous comeback against Utah and Phoenix remained undefeated. But the show was stolen by Luka Doncic. The Dallas Slovenian star carried her on his back to a win in overtime against Milwaukee's Yannis with an incredible triple-double of 36 points, 14 rebounds and a career-high 19 assists that yielded no less than 45 points for his team, the most out of 47 points scored by LeBron's assists Vs. Orlando on Jan. 15.

But these were not just assists. Doncic's 19th assist was a minute and 8 seconds to go in overtime with a ball to Maxi Club between the legs and in front of the guard of the league's MVP Yannis Antocompo and one of the three defensive player nominees of the year.

Doncic leads the league with 17 triple-doubles this season and is the youngest player to do so (21 and 168 days) and is ahead of legends like Magic Johnson, Jason Kidd and Oscar Robertson. "I stood in amazement and applauded," Dallas coach Rick Carlisle said after the game, "It was phenomenal. It's a sign that he's a great player, just a great player. "We keep seeing more things from him. Luca is not the only great player, but he is a great performer."

The coach went on to praise his star and said: "I would pay money to see him play. I'm not saying that about anyone, but he is really special."

And in front of it all stood Yannis Antokompo, who kept Doncic and also starred on offense with 33 points and 13 rebounds before coming out with six fouls at the end of overtime. The league's MVP also praised the Slovenian and said: "It's amazing, he just plays great and makes his friends better. He's really talented, one of the most talented players we've played against. And he keeps getting better."

The call of the day after the game was Doncic's 19th assist for the club, who said: "You should always expect a delivery from him when you play with him." "It's unbelievable," added Kristaps Forzingis, who finished the game with 24 points and 13 rebounds. "It's not just the way he delivered the ball, it's also the stage in the game. It takes a lot of courage to do that."

"He knows where everyone is, not only on offense, but also on defense. It's a sign that he's a very smart player," added Rick Carlisle. "I played with Larry Byrd. He would see everything that way. I had the privilege of coaching Jason Kidd and also "He had that ability. Luca is the same kind of player."
