In addition to the SV-DJK Taufkirchen and TSV Hohenbrunn, the BLSV and FC-Bayern-Hilfe awarded another 18 clubs for their commitment in the Corona crisis.

Hohenbrunn / Taufkirchen - To be honored as a “sporting hero in a crisis” is not an everyday thing. Accordingly, the joy of two traditional sports clubs from the southern district of being honored as winners in the campaign of the same name by the Bavarian State Sports Association and FC Bayern-Hilfe was great. The SV-DJK Taufkirchen and TSV Hohenbrunn are among the 20 award winners who have particularly distinguished themselves in difficult pandemic times on the part of the clubs in the categories of “stick together, stick together, collect and help together”. Around 200 sports clubs from Bavaria applied for creative projects and concepts for prize money of 3500 euros each.

In Taufkirchen and Hohenbrunn with particular success. A look into the crisis success stories of these two clubs opens up perspectives for a contemporary, demanding club life.

TSV Hohenbrunn

"Gathering". The TSV Hohenbrunn athletes had made this campaign motto their own. The pioneer of the action in the club was the football department. The ball artists used the compulsory sporting Corona break in a special way with a donation campaign for the Münchner Tafel association. The help association for supplying poor and needy people with sufficient food had just slipped into a dramatic situation due to Corona. On the one hand, the needs were very high; on the other hand, it was difficult to get enough donations in kind during the lockdown. A team of soccer players established contacts with the charitable service provider and prepared the campaign in “brainstorming campaigns” carried out as video conferences due to the crisis. Finally, the idea of a “table challenge” was born. In addition to a large food collection campaign in the association and its community environment, this also included an action aimed at associations in the area. After their own collection campaign, the Hohenbrunners “nominated” other clubs, which in turn brought others on board. This should create a strong wave of solidarity.

TSV Hohenbrunn now wants to carry out action every year

The Hohenbrunn action itself was planned “like a general staff”. On Good Friday, the donations were collected contactlessly from players and officials in and around Hohenbrunn. The goods were checked and sorted in the clubhouse. The next day, the Münchner Tafel was supplied by the Hohenbrunners with a specially organized van. In addition, the regional "Southeast Table" was given a monetary donation. The challenge for the nominees should also be successful. "A lot of money and donations in kind came together for the poorest," said TSV chairmen Sinaida Heckmaier and Sebastian Heidrich on the part of the football department. "So many people in need could be helped in very difficult times," emphasized Heidrich. The footballers now want to carry out such an action every year. “There are also a number of other helpers in the club,” emphasized Heckmaier.

Shortly after the lockdown, the trainers and supervisors of almost all departments of the club, which has around 3300 members, offered online training units, videos or virtual competitions for the youngsters. Social contacts over the net were established and intensified both internally and externally. A TSV group made small Easter decorations for the old people's homes. "We are clearly moving closer together," says Heckmaier, summarizing the social synergy in the TSV.

The proportionate prize money of 3500 euros will be put into the purchase of training materials at TSV and used for club events and participatory offers as well as for a team action by the footballers. “We are thrilled to be one of the award winners,” said Heckmaier. The involvement with TSV was also inspiring.

SV-DJK Taufkirchen

“Zamfitbleim” is the title of the category that won the Taufkirchen sports fans, above all, winning laurels. "Shortly after the sports facilities were closed in March, the SV-DJK created a catalog of immediate measures in order to remain present and to be able to continue to supply the 2700 members with sports immediately," said Presidium Chairman Michael Schaub, summarizing his club's initiative concept. "Show solidarity with the athletes, show the flag, be active, support wherever possible and be for each other" - according to Schaub, the important main disciplines in the tense pandemic. The result is a whole catalog of meaningful measures. A lockdown course schedule with 28 online courses per week should then be created for children and young people, adult and health athletes and risk groups.

SV-DJK receives 3,500 euros

In addition, there was the free loan of sports equipment or online fitness meetings with over 100 participants at the same time. “With a spread as far as Spain”, Schaub reports proudly. Also represented in the association's offer: exercises and games for the little ones, recipes to cook at home, ideas for handicrafts.

The footballers also set a good example in Taufkirchen. In the neighborhood help, they stepped in as shopping aids for those who couldn't or didn't dare to go outside the door. For the women's clinic, mouth-nose covers were sewn according to instructions in the association. Just a few examples of the exemplary work of a sports club with a strong social component. “We are very proud of our entire team and of our members - together we are strong, even in times of crisis,” summarized Schaub. The jury saw it the same way and presented the people of Taufkirchen with a 3500 euro winner's check, which should be used for various activities of the association. The “heroes in crisis” will find social solutions here too.

FC Bayern is providing 100,000 euros

FCBayern-Hilfe made a total of 100,000 euros available to the Bavarian State Sports Association (BLSV) for its “Sporty Heroes in Crisis” campaign. Previously, many “Reds” had waived a refund of their ticket expenses for games without spectators in the Allianz Arena and made it available to the charitable aid association.

One third of the donation went to the promotion of young talent by the Bavarian Sports Foundation. 70,000 euros were distributed to 20 selected clubs such as TSV Hohenbrunn and SV-DJK Taufkirchen. A total of around 200 clubs from all over the Free State had applied. BLSV President Jörg Ammon was impressed by the diversity of ideas presented by the Bavarian clubs: “Our jury was spoiled for choice for this campaign and had to choose the 20 winning clubs from an enormous range of outstanding projects. I am completely enthusiastic about the wealth of ideas and the social commitment of our clubs. "

FC Bayern wants to reward clubs

Benjamin Folkmann from FC Bayern underlined the importance of the campaign for society. "The corona crisis has also affected the existence of the countless voluntary sports clubs in Bavaria, in some cases. The idea was to reward the clubs that didn’t bury their heads in the sand and complain during the crisis, but rather volunteered for society and worked creatively for club life. ”The campaign concept worked perfectly.
