Test matches and their results are not always very meaningful in football, but this 3: 1 by FC Ismaning was a statement. The Bayern league was superior to the regional league TSV 1860 Rosenheim in all respects.

Ismaning - In the end, even coach Mijo Stijepic was amazed, who usually doesn't rate test games too highly. "We are much further than planned," said Stijepic, who celebrated a dream game in the first 45 minutes against TSV 1860 Rosenheim, who played in the best formation.

The goals of Clemens Kubina (8th), Maximilian Siebald (44th) and Angelo Hauk (45th) were played out great and the guest could not have complained even with five goals against. Stijepic had to admit that it was very close to the kind of football he imagines in good games. Only after the break was the rhythm lost due to the usual exchange orgies and Rosenheim was at least an opponent at eye level.

This test game cracker is not the only point that is causing joy in Ismaning these days. “We are very happy to have kept the team together completely during these difficult times,” said President Emanuel Eisenreich. In addition to the continuity, he was pleased that the only three newcomers are players from his own youth and that they have all been trained in Ismaning at least since the U14. After home grown-ups such as Daniel Weber, Jonas Redl or Markus Neuber had become established names with a lot of playing time in the past, there could now be the next boys who will prevail. Against Rosenheim the starting line-up looked suspiciously like the first team and Hannes Schmailzl was right in the middle. "He's been with us for four weeks and it looks like he's been with us for a lot longer," says his coach Mijo Stijepic.

And he adds that the young players get a fair chance to recommend themselves and have no disadvantage compared to prominent names. “If the boys are hardworking and humble, then you also have the potential to play,” says Stijepic. Schmailzl could become the next youngster who matures in Ismaning from a nameless kicker to a Bayern league player. President Emanuel Eisenreich is watching this development of the FCI with great pleasure. NICO BAUER
