After home grown-ups such as Daniel Weber, Jonas Redl or Markus Neuber had become established names with a lot of playing time in the past, there could now be the next boys who will prevail. Against Rosenheim the starting line-up looked suspiciously like the first team and Hannes Schmailzl was right in the middle. "He's been with us for four weeks and it looks like he's been with us for a lot longer," says his coach Mijo Stijepic.
And he adds that the young players get a fair chance to recommend themselves and have no disadvantage compared to prominent names. “If the boys are hardworking and humble, then you also have the potential to play,” says Stijepic. Schmailzl could become the next youngster who matures in Ismaning from a nameless kicker to a Bayern league player.
