Every beginning is difficult. This also applied to SV Uffing and WSV Unterammergau in the test match. In the end, the district league team prevailed 2-0 against the district classics.
Unterammergau - A mischievous grin flits across Michael Weingand's face. "Now is the interesting game," he says to Thomas Neumeier, the SV Uffing coach, after the final whistle. Weingand, SVU striker, had a good laugh. Shortly before the end of the soccer test match against and at WSV Unterammergau, he achieved the final score - 2-0 (1-0) for Uffing.
Weingand was served with an exemplary flank. It would have been a feat not to head the ball into the goal (86th). Then he slipped into the dress of the second team, which he reinforced in the 2: 2 (0: 2) against WSV II in half two.
Neumeier: "That's not enough for the district league"
In the duel between the two first representatives, Uffing retained the upper hand due to the more mature playing structure and greater determination. The Unterammergauers initially had SVU driver Schorsch Kutter under control. However, there was a lack of penetration on the offensive. Striker Ferdinand Brauchle had the best chance to make it 1-1, but put his header on the crossbar. At Uffing, Peter Kienast was added to the list of goalscorers alongside Weingand. In the initial phase, after an attack on the right side, he made it 1-0 for the SVU (5th).
Coach Neumeier classified the re-entry into competition mode in view of the midsummer temperatures as a “further fitness unit”. The first section was "okay" from his point of view. After that, however, the positional play worsened, and the willingness to run has also decreased a bit. "That's not enough for the district league," criticized the coach. A phenomenon that various colleagues from Neumeier had to observe in the last few days also crept into the SVU: The long break in the game robbed the footballers of some of their self-image. “The basics have to come from the team, not from the bank,” the coach aimed at the slowed flow of speech and the inadequate adherence to the basic rules.
WSV Unterammergau after the break "at eye level"
“It seems that many clubs have this problem.” Neumeier's counterpart sees it similarly. "You can feel the uncertainty after the break," states the new WSV trainer Sepp Thiermeyer. Meanwhile, he sees his team on the right track - apart from the initial phase. "We were a bit overwhelmed and had way too much respect." The muscular injury of Sebastian Moser, who therefore had to pass very early on, was also annoying.
As the game progressed, the Ammertaler rallied and stood up to their class higher opponents. After the break, Thiermeyer saw a "game at eye level" in which the only thing the WSV kickers would have had to do with more "calm in front of the goal" and "play better" one or the other attack.
