With more players joining the training camp of Syria's first football team, the pace of local preparations increased to complete the dual qualifiers for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar and the Asian Cup finals in China 2023.
The team has conducted, during its current camp in Damascus, a number of intensive morning and evening training sessions under the supervision of the Tunisian Nabil Maaloul, the coach of the national team, noting that the beginning of the camp focused on physical exercises to raise the readiness of the players, while the focus was on the technical aspect and some tactical sentences during the past few period, taking into account the conditions. The required health in conjunction with the continuous testing to ensure the safety of players from the emerging corona virus.
Our team has 15 points collected from five matches in the qualifiers, after defeating the Philippines 5-2, the Maldives 2-1, over Guam 4-0, over China 2-1, and the Philippines again 2-1.
