Freising: He has always questioned training methods. Tobias Kuhn now records his experiences in his book “Power Bible”.

Freising - A young, athletically built man welcomes me at Alois-Steinecker-Straße 3. In a serious training outfit, he says goodbye to two training guests with a friendly smile after they have finished their workout. Typical young fitness trainer, I think. But it quickly becomes clear in conversation: Tobias Kuhn has more to it than that. He also has something to say.

The 28-year-old has been a personal trainer for almost ten years, has had his own fitness studio in Freising since 2018 and launched his second book in July. The title “The Power Bible” alone suggests great things. And so it is not surprising that the author himself intended the book as a standard work. One that deals with all the theoretical and practical aspects of strength training.

The cover: the book is 324 pages thick. Three copies will be raffled off in the Freisinger Tagblatt.

“Everyone who deals with the topic can draw information from it based on scientific principles. Regardless of the topic, ”says Tobias Kuhn. He wanted to write a book that had a scientific claim and made these findings understandable for everyone, so that the reader could use it perfectly for his training practice. From the point of view of the 28-year-old, knowledge from studies and publications still finds its way far too rarely into training programs.

Twelve months of paperwork

That should be different with the "Power Bible". The 324-page work, in which twelve months of writing work, is divided into two parts. The first deals more with the theoretical aspects of strength training. What are the positive effects of strength training? What are the influencing factors? How does the strength develop? - Such things.

The second part then includes the corresponding exercise directory, where more than 100 exercises are described with your own body weight, with dumbbells or the sling trainer.

Training methods often questioned

Tobias Kuhn has always been interested in sport. He has tried tennis, soccer, badminton and triathlon competitively. For years he was active as a boxer and questioned the training methods there from a young age. He always wanted to know exactly why endurance runs are important for boxers and what processes take place in the body. This interest and the possibility of doing practical work during a dual study program were the reasons for the now 28-year-old Freissinger by choice to enroll at the University for Prevention and Health Management.

Health-related training

After graduating as a fitness economist, Kuhn gained years of experience as a personal trainer and also gave lectures. In addition, he completed many fitness and health-related training courses in order to acquire further know-how and specialist knowledge. At the same time, Tobias Kuhn published the first articles on fitness and training topics in various publishing houses. This also resulted in his first manual “Topfit without devices” in 2018, which was published by CH Beck Verlag.

His motto: "Exercise is medicine"

In his studio on Alois-Steinecker-Straße, he has been looking after various clients as a "Health & Fitness Advisor" for two years. "Exercise is Medicine" is a motto that Tobias Kuhn would like to pass on, as he explains with shining eyes: "Sport is the most effective medicine for many diseases of civilization and has the fewest side effects. We are becoming more and more overweight, cardiovascular diseases are increasing, the problems with the musculoskeletal system are increasing, and it is important to counteract this. We move far too little in everyday life. You should do sport regularly, preferably under the individual guidance of a trainer, instead of just working senselessly on machines in a fitness studio. "

From the perspective of the personal trainer, more and more people are now realizing that the value of health is immeasurable and want to be active accordingly. The little valuable time that people squeeze for their sporting activities should be used as sensibly as possible. That is why more and more people are relying on "personal training" as the best of all ways to train effectively (see interview on the right).
