The games were hot, and not just because of the weather, in which the guests from the HVB Club Munich got the upper hand with a narrow 5-4. The men at the foot of the Seeberg had to go into the match tie-break three times. Among other things, Benedikt Häusler, who was seeded first, turned the match against Maximilian Sigel (both LK 12) after 2: 6 in the first set and won the second 6: 4. 9:11 he had to admit defeat in the decisive tie-break. Wolfgang Kirchner (6: 3, 2: 6, 10: 8) and Thomas Schwab (6: 0, 1: 6, 10: 5) decided their match tiebreaks in favor of TC Bayrischzell.
Two defeats at the end
The doubles had to make the decision that day. However, the hosts would have had to win all three to win the final district league game. However, only Kilian and Benedikt Häusler as well as Wolfgang Kirchner and Seppi Schmid were successful. In the end it was a close 4: 5, like before at TSV Teisendorf. Nevertheless, the Bayrischzeller were happy about fourth place in the field of eight teams. True to their motto "Mir san mia and also mir san sauguad". It is precisely this mixture of megalomania and modesty that distinguishes them, says the team, which was founded in 2011 with all active players over 30, and that a tennis match also requires intensive follow-up - regardless of whether it is a victory or a defeat.
They opened with a 6-3 home win against ASV Flintsbach. A 3: 6 against TC Zorneding was followed by victories at ETC Siegertsbrunn (6: 3) and against TC Kirchheim (5: 4) before they had to admit defeat to champions HC Wacker Munich II 3: 6. There were close matches in a balanced round, as were the last two in Teisendorf and against the HVB Club from the state capital.
The first dates have been carefully set for September. The finals of the mixed individual club championship will take place on September 25th at 5 p.m. On Saturday, September 26th, the mixed tournament will be a highlight of the tennis year in the Oberland. The youth start at 10 a.m., and the big ones start at 2 p.m. when the second Seeberg Open Mixed tournament is played.
