Mercedes driver Valtteri Bottas today led the first free trials of the Formula One Spanish Grand Prix at Circuit de Catalunya in Barcelona.
Sky Sports reported that Bottas covered the 4,655-km track in a time of one minute 16,785 seconds, 39 milliseconds behind his British teammate Lewis Hamilton.
Dutch driver Max Verstappen, who won Sunday's race title, finished third.
Verstappen is second in the overall standings this season, 30 points behind Hamilton, who won the championship six times, including last season's title, while Bottas is third in the overall standings.
