Sunday, 16 August 2020, 12:09A particularly violent assault incident has been stirring Barcelona in recent days. Federico Colombi, a 22-year-old amateur boxer from Italy, arrived on holiday in Barcelona a few days ago. Over the weekend, he spent time at a local bar in the city's Gothic Quarter, with a friend. After the two drank large amounts of alcohol in a short time and before they continued to drink, the owner decided to ask them to pay, as long as they were not drunk. He handed them the bill, and Columbia announced he would pay it, not before drinking four more drinks.
After the fourth drink, the owner announced that until he received no payment for the drinks, Columbia would not be able to order another liquor. The Italian boxer did not like it, to say the least. Together with the same friend, Columbia decided to leave the bar without paying. One of the bartenders, who recognized this, went out into the street with them and demanded that they pay. In response, he punched him in the face and punched another waiter in the face, and they both needed medical attention afterwards.
"I jumped on him from behind and started choking him," the 68-year-old owner recalled in the incident. "He threw me easily and threw me from side to side. I resisted, so he tried to send a few punches to my face, but luckily I managed to dodge and he left the place."

So the Italian's campaign of violence had just begun. The owners of the place called the police, who searched for him for long minutes in the streets of the Gothic Quarter. Eventually, two plainclothes police officers located him and tried to arrest him. In a video taken by one of the occupants of the street, the fools are seen trying to flank him, without success. Columbia also punched them and they also needed medical treatment at a hospital.
He continued to terrorize the Gothic Quarter, when only after long minutes, when large forces of police arrived on the scene, were they able to take control of him and arrest him. Since then, he has been in custody and interrogated, and it does not appear that he will return to Italy any time soon.
