The capital club is playing its sixth European semi-final on Tuesday. Back to the previous five.

Twenty years after a logical elimination against AC Milan, the capital club returns to the stadium of the semi-finals of the Champions League. All European Cups combined, the Parisians have already been present five times in the last four of a European event in the 1990s and have twice reached the final of the Cup Cup.

1992-1993 UEFA Cup
PSG – Juventus 1-2, 0-1
Paris SG's first European campaign, Canal + version, will be marked by the legendary victory (4-1) in the second leg against Real Madrid in quarterfinal. No feat, however, in the semi-final against Juventus Turin. Artur Jorge's men were dominated (1-2) on April 6, 1993, in the first leg. The return match is marked by a contested and contestable arbitration decision. In the 70th minute, George Weah was broke in the penalty area. But the referee does not award a penalty. In the 77th minute, Roberto Baggio seals the qualification for Juve (0-1) and breaks the European dreams of the Parisian club.

Coupe des Coupe 1993-1994
PSG – Arsenal 1-1, 0-1
A year after the frustrating elimination against Juve, Paris returned to the last four of the Coupe des Coupe, a competition which brought together the winners of the national cups. On March 29, 1994, Paris SG was held in check at the Parc des Princes (1-1). Ian Wright opened the scoring in the 35th minute and David Ginola equalized in the 48th. The club of the capital can thank Bernard Lama, author, that evening, of decisive parades. During the return match on April 12, 1994 at Highbury, Kevin Campbell scored very early for the Gunners (7th). The Parisians then dominate the debates but do not find the fault.

Champions League 1994-1995
PSG – Milan AC 0-1, 0-2
For his first time in the last four of the C1, the PSG of Luis Fernandez logically falls against the AC Milan of Fabio Capello, defending champion. At the Parc, during the first leg, the Italian formation and its famous defensive block, placed a perfect counter in the 91st minute and snatched the victory on a goal from Zvonimir Boban. A defeat that showered the dreams of the final of the Parisian training. And during the return match on April 19, 1995, the invincible Lombard club logically won (2-0), thanks to a double from Montenegrin Dejan Savicevic (21st, 68th). The great AC Milan will fall in the final against Ajax (0-1).

Cup 1995-1996
PSG – Deportivo La Coruna 1-0, 1-0
For their fourth semifinal in a row in the European Cup, Paris SG is experiencing (finally) a happy ending. With a splendid strike from the right, Youri Djorkaeff scored the goal of the Parisian victory at Riazor, on April 4, 1996 (0-1). In the return match, Patrice Loko (56th) ensures victory and the final. Thanks to a legendary free kick from Bruno Ngotty against Rapid Vienne in the final, Luis Fernandez's men will win their first European Cup.

Coupe des Coupe 1996-1997
PSG – Liverpool 3-0, 0-2
The defending champion Paris SG knocked out Robbie Fowler's Liverpool 3-0 in the first leg on April 10, 1997. Leonardo (11th), Benoît Cauet (42nd) and Jérôme Leroy (84th) score for Paris. Fifteen days later at Anfield, the team now coached by Ricardo is sweating cold but qualifies on the wire. Fowler (11th), then Mark Wright (79th) find the net for the Reds but do not manage to snatch an extension. To the delight of Paris SG, who however failed in their quest for a double, barred in the final by Barça from the Brazilian Ronaldo, author of the victorious goal (1-0).
