As already reported, Arie van Lent is the new head coach of SpVgg Unterhaching. The 49-year-old was officially introduced at noon.
The native Dutchman has signed a contract until June 30, 2022. “With Arie van Lent we have hired a trainer who absolutely fits our philosophy. He lets attacking football play and has proven that he can work excellently with young players and develop them, ”says President Manfred Schwabl. “His experience as a player is absolutely undisputed, but he has also been active as a coach for 13 years. We are convinced that Arie is the right coach for the game association. ”Van Lent last looked after Borussia Mönchengladbach's U23s for six years. Between 2013 and 2015 he was the coach of the Gladbach U19. Before that he coached Kickers Offenbach (2011-2013) and Rot Weiss Ahlen (2010-2011) in the 3rd division. “I think that I fit both Haching and Haching with me,” says van Lent. “The conversations went very well and we immediately had a positive feeling. I'm looking forward to the new challenge! ”The coaching team will be complemented by ex-Hachinger Roman Tyce and the previous U19 coach Robert Lechlei-ter. “They both know Haching inside and out and can therefore optimally support our new trainer,” says sports director Claus Schromm.
