The 2019/20 season in the Europa League is not over yet, but tonight (Tuesday) the 2020/21 season will begin, in the form of the opening of the qualifiers.
Unfortunately, the first game that was supposed to get the qualifiers off was canceled, following the eruption of Corona in Kosovo, which was supposed to be hosted tonight by Lincoln from Gibraltar.
Two hours before the opening whistle, Pristina received the sad news and was left with only 14 squad players. The authorities in Gibraltar responded quickly, and decided to cancel the deal and escort the visiting group to the airport, ahead of the flight to Kosovo.
"The game will not be held," a Pristina spokesman said. "The authorities in Gibraltar have not allowed him to exist, and in the near future we will leave. UEFA has not made a decision and it may be decided to hold the game in a neutral country - Poland, Hungary, Greece or Cyprus." There will likely be a technical loss to the Kosovar team.
