FIFA has issued a decision not to hold international matches for national teams except on the continent of Europe, in a move to avoid players traveling amid the spread of the new Corona virus.
In a statement issued by the International Federation published on its official website .. A decision was taken to postpone the window for international matches that were scheduled from August 31 until September 8, 2020, to the period between January 24 and February 1 of 2022 for all federations Continental except for the European Union.
The period of new matches in January 2022 includes the African Nations Cup, where the dates will be set at a later stage in addition to the CONCACAF tournament dates.
The Federation affirmed that FIFA’s decision came after global turmoil related to the outbreak of the Covid-19 epidemic in various regions of the world.
