Orlando (AP) - Basketball national player Daniel Theis has successfully started the NBA playoffs with the Boston Celtics.
Against the Philadelphia 76ers it started with a 109: 101. Theis played from the start and contributed nine points, three rebounds and three assists in 25 minutes of playing time and after tough duels with Joel Embiid.
His national team colleague Maxi Kleber, however, suffered a defeat with the Dallas Mavericks against the title favorites Los Angeles Clippers. Mavericks star Luka Doncic delivered a statistically impressive performance in the first playoff game of his career and scored 42 points, 7 rebounds and 9 assists, but could not prevent the 110: 118 against the second best basketball team in the Western Conference.
In the two other duels on the first playoff day in the spectatorless NBA bubble in Orlando, the Denver Nuggets won 135: 125 against the Utah Jazz and defending champions Toronto Raptors defeated the Brooklyn Nets 134: 110.
