At the weekend the second team of TSV Neuried beat FC Weil 5-3. Indispensable for this partial success is coach Maximilian Zgud, who brings a new wind into the team.

Neuried - It often takes time for a new coach with his own ideas and a team to get used to it. Maximilian Zgud knows that. He was all the more pleased to have clinched his first win in his second game on the TSV Neuried II sideline. "Overall, I'm happy with the game," said the TSV coach after the 5-3 win on Sunday against FC Weil. “I brought a few new things with me to Neuried - for example a more offensive system,” said Zgud. That worked against the Kreisligist Weil. Gabriel Freytag, Jonas Einloft, Yusuf Aykac with a brace and Alpay Uslu scored a handful of goals of their own, but not everything worked defensively after conceding three goals.

Many test matches and team evenings for TSV Neuried II

That doesn't surprise Zgud after just a few weeks of training and only two test matches. Accordingly, until the planned continuation of the season at the beginning of September, the focus will be on further automating his team's new processes. “That's why I made out one or two test matches more. Training is all well and good, but you also need match practice, ”explains the coach. There are still three games left for the regional division club in the next twelve days, the first tonight at A-class table leader FC Puchheim. In addition, Zgud would like to organize team events until the first competitive game in order to weld the team even closer and better integrate the newcomers. These are primarily up-and-coming youth players from the Neuried youth team - and as an external transfer Thomas Bakalorz.

Neuried coach hopes for a restart in September

Until the league game returns in three weeks, the TSV has a lot more plans. Zgud is confident that the Bavarian Football Association (BFV) can stick to its schedule and schedule competitive games again on the first weekend in September. The Neurieder Reserve also takes part in the newly created league cup. "We'll just have a look at where we're headed," says Zgud, who primarily wants to use the games to better coordinate the team. "Every competition helps us."

Regardless of whether it is a league or a cup, Zgud has decided to do something. "My goal is to work every week in such a way that points come out on the weekend - and of course, above all, staying in the regional league," says the coach. He would like to achieve this with a predominantly young team.
