Stefan Reuter plays for SV Heimstetten and is in preparation for Augsburg and Marseille. His father is a manager of the FCA. Does its name mean extra pressure?

  • Stefan Reuter (Junior) played in his youth at TSV 1860 Munich and SpVgg Unterhaching .

Munich / Heimstetten - It is often not easy for young footballers when their father is a famous personality. The players are often in the public eye from a young age and are challenged more than by other players of the same age and only because their name is known. For many it is an additional pressure and there are not a few who fail because of it. Also  Stefan Reuter ( Junior ) knows this situation. His father - Stefan Reuter (senior) - was a player for Juventus Turin , FC Bayern and Borussia Dortmund , among others . Now he is the manager of FC Augsburg

Stefan Reuter (Junior) goes his own way

The 20-year-old midfielder has been prophesied of a professional career since he was a child , but it's not that easy. The name alone doesn't do him any favors. Stefan Reuter (Junior) has to go his own way - and that's what he does. When TSV 1860 München and SpVgg Unterhaching was the now 20-year-old in the youth trained. Until the 2018/19 season he was active in the U19 game association. After that, the midfielder was about to move into the men's area.

For the 2019/20 season: change to SV Heimstetten

From many sides, FC Augsburg was brought into direct conversation, which could sign the talent. But for Stefan Reuter (junior) this was never an issue. He doesn't want to know that he would only get a certain contract through his father. It was also important to him to get a lot of match practice in the men's area. He joined SV Heimstetten from the Regionalliga Bayern for the 2019/20 season.

There the 20-year-old has made 19  appearances so far in the season that is currently interrupted and has been a regular in coach Christoph Schmitt's team since the fifth match day .

Test matches against Dimitri Payet and Florian Niederlechner

In preparation for the restart, SV Heimstetten has had a few hits on the program so far. The regional league team played against nine-time French champions Olympique Marseille and faced Bundesliga club FC Augsburg. Two special games: On the one hand, because such games are always something special for a regional league club. On the other hand, especially for Stefan Reute r (junior). So he competed with the  SVH against FC Augsburg and thus also against his father's club.
